Arrial de Adjuda

Hostel in Arrial de Adjuda, met 3 new friends

After Arrial do Cabo, myself and April took the early morning bus to go to Arriail de Adjuda, our initial plan for the bus route was quite a tedious one, but when we got to Campos bus station, we found out that, we need not have to change so many buses to reached our destination. Also when in Campos, we are just so amazed with the number of kind and helpful angels we met in just one day. Brazilians are very warmth, friendly and helpful people.
When we arrived in Adjuda, we were very happy to see that there is a very cosy and nice swimming pool to soak ourself in the warm and hot weather. Again I met Jon from Norway, I first met him when he stayed only 1 night in Cabo and on transit to go to Adjuda, but when I saw him arrive in the same hostel as us, he was dead beaten, after having traveled for over 24 hours. The beach in Adjuda is not as nice as in Cabo, but I was happy to be here cos I get to meet with 2 new friends Christiana from Rio de Janeiro (she is one a month holiday and is a system analyst in a bank, a very helpful and extremly organised person) and Opa from France (she is traveling in Brazil for 3 months, she is the opposite of Christiana, she has no plans in her travel and is always led by what she feels on the day), we had been traveling together for 2 to 3 weeks up to Salvador for the Carnival. We had great fun together.
In Adjuda, most of the time April is resting in the hostel as she was not feeling too well physically, so I get to hang out with these 2 girls and other hostel mate most of the time. That`s the thrills in traveling and living in the hostel, you get to meet people of different culture and nationalities.
To share abit about Adjuda, it is a small touristic town filled with many tourists from Israel. In fact some of the shop or resturant have Hebrew inscriptions and menu. I had wondered if I was in Israel or Brazil. One of the day, we hired a car to drive about an hour or so to a `so called` beach paradise. It was quite an adventure to drive though, as the road was not smooth and many pop holes to look out for.
After staying for 5 days in Adjuda, I decided to go to Morro de Sao Paulo without April as I had enough of Adjuda and wanted to see more of other beaches and places.

After Rio,Ii took a 3 hrs bus ride to Arriail do Cabo to meet up with Lecticia amd Paulo.I had the most wonderful time here, one the first nite of my arrival I already met with so many wonderful people, Tulio and Roberta staff at the hostel were extremly helpful, friendly, and wonderful people to be with. The people at the hostel are fun and friendly, the beaches are spectacular like a paradise. What more do you still ask for a great time of vacation. I love Cabo so much so that I wouldn´t want to leave. In fact I stay for 9 days there. I went diving, someday just laze around in the hostel and do nothing or take a boat trip to the different beaches. I highly recommend this place for beach lovers.

Copacabana - extending my travels

Corvaodo - the famous statue of Christ in Rio De Janeiro
View of the city - across is the Sugar Loaf mountain
Copacabana beach
After 45 days of traveling with Gap Adventure from Peru to Bolivia to South Brazil into Rio De Janeiro. It was a great trip and from it I had met so many wonderful friends. Our trip actualy ends on 29/1/06, but I love latin America so much so that I am continuing my travels in South America till mid April. I will be spending most of the time traveling up along the Northeast coast of Brazil to do some diving and enjoying the beaches, till I reach Salvador for the Carnaval and then fly to Buenas Aires on 3rd March, to visit the Patagonia fro another 5 weeks, traveling up t Chile Santiago. Am looking forwards and excited about it.
In Copacabana, I check into a youth hostel in Copacabana, this hostel is very hip and crowded, I soon got aquainted to my new roomates and we became great friends, especially with Noelia from Agrentina, she speaks little english and I speaks very little spanish, but we often communicate using hand gesture and illustrations, which is very interesting. Lecticia frm Sao Paolo and Paola from Argentina, both of them speak very good english. Actually to be frank travel in a foreign language land is not that difficult as one thinks it is. All we need to do is ask and give the person a smile when ask for a favor. I am having funhecking out checking out places of interest and experience the culture here.
