Rappeling and Diving into the Abismo Humanas Cave

Getting ready to rappel down
In the cave, pitch dark
diving into the 80m deep cave to see the stactalite and stactamite
Close view of the stactamite
Sunlight ray into the cave, awesome

I did this awesome and amazing adventure of my life for the firts time, I rappel 72 m deep into this amazing millions of years cave, this is yet to be preserved or controled by the government, but soon it will be. I was so happy the I got to know about the cave and manage to do this exciting adventure trip, and to diving into the dark cave. Only 16 person are allow per day to rappel into the cave and 4 persons to dive in the icy cold water of millions years. I was so excited about the rappelling and diving into the cave. We enter into the cave with a small hole from the top and inside the cave is just like another whole new world of limestones structures. Amazing!

Beautiful Bonito in Brazil

At Rio De Prata, the clearwater inner lake with many big fishes
we went snorkeling with the fishes at close encounter
Small volcanoe in the water
Jo and view if the underwater lake
Beautiful big fishes

Bonito is a very small town, but is a town full of activties and things to do. There are so many tourists both Local and international. We went snorkeling in the clear water lake and it was an awesome experience, teh lake is so beautiful and the water is so clear and fresh. We had to trek for about 45 mins to the lake and along the way we were introduce to the trees and plantation in the forest. And when we reach the lake it was a wow for us and we are so eager to get into the lake to swim and enjoy the fresh clean water. Some part of the water lever is not high so we actually are not allow to touch paddle our fish but just to let the stream flow us thru the lake, it was so relaxing and therapeutic. Great fun.

Ready to travel to Bonito

After Bolivia, we took a very interesting small night train to Brazil on 5/1/06. And striaght away we made our way to go to the Pantaneal, on the North west of Brazil, well know for its Fuana, birds and wildlife. I took the 9 hours truck ride through the wetland and farms. It was a real interest and fun experience, especially seeing Paulo, our tour guide catch the Amedelia with his bare hand. At the Panteneal, we did fishing for Peniana in the caiman filled lake, hiking in the brush, spot wild life and seen quite a number of Tucans and Macaws. Rest and relax in our hammock bed.

Potosis to Sucre to Santa Cruz in Bolivia

At Potosis, Local young miners, as young as 13 yrs old

Hey, look out for the new group of miners in style Going down to the 8m mining cave with the olden pulley system
Countryside cycling at Sucre, tough ride, 50% uphill and downhill, exhausted
I had my hair plaid at Sucre with Rebecca, 3 -4 hrs of works

After spending 4 days Uyuni, we too a long bus journey to Potosis, this was once the busiest and most populated city in the world, more than London during the 1611. Potosis was best known for it´s mining activities and richest. We went to visit the mining cave and get to see the miners at work. I was quite disturbed to see the hard life of the miner, risking their lives to work with the bomb and breathing in carbon dioxide, most of the life span of the miners are very short, last not more than 50 or 60 yrs on average, yet their wages are not that much comparatively. In the afternoon, I went to visit the mint factory, to see the production of the coin. I must say that the trip had made me realised that how hard life can be, one is willing to sacrafice the short lifespan for that little amount of income for the momentary fufillment of hunger. I just could not really comprehen the logic of it, but yet, the reality is so true. Let us who life in the 1st world nation, be always grateful to our creator and the remember those who are less fortunate than us.

Traveling in Bolivia, Uyuni - Salt Flat

The Local at work gathering the salt to be refined at factory
My Tour Leader, Melaniefor Bolivia andBrazil performing a somersault, how cool.
The whole group - beside me is Regula (Switerland), Shelley and Tim (NZ) of us traveling in Bolivia

6th Jan 2006, today we are going to meet up with our new tour leader for at least 25 days to travel through from Bolivia to Brazil, Melissa, she is a very sweet, friendly, full of enthusium, fun and jovial girl, a true blooded and great tour leader. Also joining us new in our group is Regula, from Swizterland (she will only travel with us for 10 days in Bolivia) and also Timothy and Shelley, come from southernmost part of New Zealand. They will be joining us for 25 days, and after the trip, they will be heading to London to work for 2 years.
I like Bolivia alot, especially in Uyuni Salt Flat. This is the most beautiful part of my trip so far. We journey through Salt flat by jeep for 4 days, and basically we were living in basic necessities, someday, we had to go without bathing, sleeping in the Salt Hotel or Dormity bed style. Food wise, I would say is great, we had 2 cooks, travel with us in our journey to prepared food for us making sure we have sufficient food and were well fed, and so indeed we were.
Up in Salt Flat, we get to experience and see various ecological sights, from the crystal white Salt Flat, to swamp of flamingo pink lake, to bathing in the hot spring and to the beauitiful Turqouise lake. It was an experience that made me so grateful to our creator for his beauty and creativities.

Skyview of La Paz from our hotel window, spectacular.
This group of us on our last day in La Paz, after doing some shopping, had a sudden crave for dessert but could not find any, We decide checked in our hotel. And the staff is so good, went out to buy this chocolate cake for us. Great service and the chocolate was yummy and taste like heaven. Also, today Jill and Luke will leave for New York in their next travel leg, Ann on the following day to Australia, while the rest of the 3 girls will continue another 10 days, traveling in Bolivia with me and JoAnn, together with 3 other new travellers.
I really enjoyed travelling Peru, with this group of new found friends. All of us are very easy to get along with and fun. I had fun time especially connecting with certian individuals like Jill, Luke (fellow believers in Christ) and Ann (my dear roomate).
